Muse's character is based on the author Dana McKelvey's upbringing as a violinist from age 9 to 18 in the Charleston (S.C.) Youth Symphony. Dana has gone on to have a professional career creating music experiences for international brands, producing concerts and festivals for award-winning artist, producing music, DJing and teaching music courses to at risk youth.
